Hi Rosie,

I did not realise it a to be a common belief about children knowing more about using the computer than their teachers created obstacles or barriers to using computers in early childhood. I myself see it as an advantage because sometimes we can be learners too.Indeed in this ever changing world, we need technology to enhance learning,  enhance friendships and broaden  our horizons.

  1. Hi Luana
Thanks for your feedback. I tend to agree with Tsantis, Bewick & Thouvenelle, 2003, in there statement that children seem more advanced today than their parents and teachers in the use of technology and computers. I see this as an advantage however, as we are into scaffolding each other into learning. Today children are faced with electronic gaming, mobile phones, laptops and other devices that sometimes we as adults cannot master. I speak of experience here as I for one would have not idea how to play X-box or let alone use the new I-phone 4..lol. I also believe that with the fast pace of technology, that some schools now require children to use only laptops in class and to do all classwork in an electronic notebook.
I believe in changing times and therefore I advocate for teachers and parents to get up to speed with technology, which is for the betterment of encouraging children to become computer savvy.
    Have a good day...happy researching..
    Cheers
    Rosie
